Privacy Policy – Image Zoom Viewer
Last updated: January 2026
1. Overview
Image Zoom Viewer ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that provides enhanced image
preview (zoom, pan, etc.) on web pages. This policy describes what data we collect and how we
use it.
2. Data Collection and Usage
Core image preview and processing run entirely in your browser. No images or image URLs are sent to our servers.
To improve stability and user experience, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to
collect only anonymized, non–personally identifiable usage data, such as:
- Feature usage (e.g. click counts, use of zoom/download)
- Error reports and exception messages
- Browser User Agent
- An anonymous unique identifier (stored locally, not tied to your identity)
We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII), browsing
history, or full image URLs.
3. Data Handling
- Collected data is used only to understand feature usage and fix bugs.
- We do not monitor activity outside the extension.
- Your preferences (trigger key, preview size, closing behavior) are stored locally via
Chrome's sync storage and are encrypted; they sync only to your own Google account.
- All image handling and display occur entirely in your browser.
4. Permissions
- activeTab: Access the active tab when you interact with the extension (e.g. "Reload extension on current page").
- scripting: Used with activeTab to reload extension functionality on the current page.
- storage: Save and sync your preferences across sessions.
- downloads: Save the currently previewed image to your device when you choose "Download Image".
5. Compliance
The extension is designed to comply with Chrome Web Store policies. We do not collect
sensitive or personal data beyond the anonymized usage data described above, and we do not
sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
